WELCOME TO BENGAL PIPELINE
Bengal Pipeline Company LLC is a joint venture of Colonial Pipeline Company and Shell Midstream Operating LLC. Bengal provides a new connection for refineries in Norco, Louisiana to the newly merged tank farms of Colonial and Shell in Baton Rouge. Bengal's assets also include an existing 16-inch line that connects a refinery in Convent, Louisiana to the merged Colonial-Shell tank farms. With Bengal, there is a significantly improved capability to reach markets across the southern and eastern United States with refined petroleum products.Construction began in August 2005 on new assets for Bengal. The heart of the project is a new, 24-inch pipeline from Garyville, Louisiana to the combined tank farms in Baton Rouge. The new pipeline connects to an existing 24-inch pipeline from Norco to Garyville, providing a continuous 24-inch pipeline extending from Norco to Baton Rouge. In addition, facility modifications were completed at the tank farms to provide greater operational flexibility and increased capacity for shippers. There were no significant modifications to the 16-inch pipeline from Convent to Baton Rouge.
Thanks to Bengal, the production at some Louisiana refineries has improved access to markets across the South and Eastern United States. |
